Supporting Freya Lodge

Freya Lodge is a 501(c) (8) non-profit corporation. The lodge is able to continue it's mission thanks in part to dues paid by members, donations, fund raising events during the year and generous support from Sons of Norway International. Our membership is dedicated to supporting our local community through donations, charity and providing scholarship opportunities for worthy students of Scandinavian descent.

As we all know technology is advancing. Our Freya Lodge web site is an example of how the power of technology can help us to reach more people in our local community, in our district and around the world. The technology has also seen the rise of shopping for everyday items on line through electronic retailers. Goods and services of all kinds are available and many retailers offer deep discounting to make the on line shopping experience even more exciting.

Recently, Freya Lodge embarked on a new and exciting fundraising opportunity to help our members and friends support our lodge each time they shop on line. We have established ourselves as a cause on IGive.com. This web portal allows it's members to shop at over 600 retailers, and growing, with a percentage of the sales proceeds from each transaction donated back to the chosen cause of the member. What is more exciting is that for each new member who joins IGive.com, a $5 donation is made immediately to member's cause.

Signing up for IGive is easy, and they do not sell members information to marketers. IGive members also receive notices of special "member only" sales. Major retailers including Target, Sears, Staples, Cabela's and many, many others are participating. And we know that IGive can be a successful fundraiser as Camp Norge has been listed as a cause for some time and to date has received over $500 in donations thanks to online purchases made by IGive members who identified Camp as their cause.
