Saturday, December 7, 2013: Freya Lodge will host it's annual Juletrefest beginning at Noon. This special event, celebrating the holiday season, is fun for young and old. In addition to a Julebord lunch buffet, cookies and coffee, we will sing traditional songs and dance around the tree. We'll also have a visit from the Julenisse. Cost for lunch is $8 for adults, $10 for non-members and kids under 12 are free. RSVP is appreciated by November 30th. For more information, please see the flyer here.
Saturday, January 11, 2014: Meatball making workshop at Norway Hall. This fun event will help us get the meatballs ready for the following week's dinner, and participation will also help those involved toward a Cultural Skills pin for Cooking. Look for more details soon!!!
Saturday, January 18, 2014: "My mother knew there was no risk, in serving buttered Lutefisk"... It's time again for that wintertime and holiday staple, Lutefisk and Meatballs and Freya Lodge will hold it's annual dinner beginning at 4 PM with Social Hour. Seating for this event is limited and seats go fast, so reservations are an absolute must. We can't guarantee a seat for walk ups on this event. Saturday, February 1, 2014: Freya Lodge will kick off it's Scandinavian Movie Festival for 2014 with a presentation of the Norwegian film Max Manus beginning at 1 PM. A $3 donation to the Hall Association is appreciated.
Tuesday afternoons @ 1:30 PM: Freya Lodge hosts Norwegian Language lessons. For more information, contact Anne-Marie.

Tuesday evenings: Scandinavian Dance Class, 7:15 to 9:15pm at Hermann Sons Hall in Petaluma. Anyone interested in Scandinavian dancing is encouraged to come, beginners especially. No partner needed. Sunday, December 8, 2013: Linnea Lodge #504 of the Vasa (Swedish) Order will hold their annual St. Lucia Festival at the Veteran's Memorial Building in Petaluma beginning at 4 PM. This event will feature a Smorgasbord dinner, Jul Bazzaar, traditional music and dancing around the tree, a visit from Santa and the magical St. Lucia Pageant. Sunday, February 16, 2014: On Sunday, February 16, 2014 the Santa Rosa Symphony will present the concert, Sons of the Fjord, at 3:00 pm at the Green Music Center located on the campus of Sonoma State University. Freya Lodge has secured a special group ticket price of $19.00 per person which will also include a post-concert cocktail party hosted by SSU President Ruben Arminana and his wife, Marne Olson, and the Freya Lodge Board. The symphony program will include Grieg’s Piano Concerto and the Symphony Number 2 by Sibelius. This performance will also feature the American premiere of 34 year-old, Norwegian composer Řrjan Matre’s work entitled Resurgence. Reservations and checks must be mailed by February 3, 2014 to Sons of Norway, P. O. Box 6558, Santa Rosa, CA 95406. If you already have subscription Santa Rosa Symphony tickets and would like to attend the post-concert cocktail party, please send a check for $5.00 to Sons of Norway by February 3, 2014 to ensure your reservation for the post-concert party. Saturday, December 7, 2013: Olav Lodge 6-082 will hold their annual Julebord on December 7, social hour
beginning at 5:30 and dinner served at 6:30 at the Lucas Valley Homeowners Association Center, 1201 Idylberry Drive in San Rafael
December 6 & 7,2013: If you can’t wait for Freya Lodge's Lutefisk & Meatball dinner in January, then Nordhal Grieg Lodge 6-052 has a ready made solution for you. They will hold their annual dinner with six seatings over two
days at their Nordahl Hall, 580 Parr Blvd. in Los Gatos. Seatings are at 3:30, 5:30 and 7 PM each day. This is a huge event and some seatings sell out quickly so early reservations are a must. Contact Kari Warner at 408-248-5046 or see page 10 of the Nordahl Grieg newsletter.
May 6-10, 2014: Freya Lodge will host another in an ongoing series of Bunad making classes. This year's class will be held at Norway Hall in Santa Rosa. Class size is limited to 12 students. For more information contact Pamela Stutrud Groth or see the flyer here.
